The goals of the MLA Research Training Institute (RTI) are to:

  • Increase research competencies and confidence of participants
  • Increase quality, quantity, and dissemination of health information research conducted by health sciences librarians
  • Build research capacity among health sciences librarians to contribute to health and library improvements

Throughout the year, the institute conducts assessments to determine whether the program is reaching its objectives.

Based on RTI assessment findings, the RTI program is meeting its goals and increasing the research skills and confidence of RTI participants and the quality and quantity of health information research produced by health sciences librarians. Results also reveal other benefits that have been derived from the RTI training.
