Statement of Purpose

The purpose of the Solo Librarians Caucus is to provide solo librarians serving health care professionals with a forum that provides an opportunity for support, help, and professional development.

The caucus's primary goal is to give a voice to solo librarians who continuously strive to strengthen their positions within MLA and their individual institution.

A secondary goal is to serve as an outreach and recruitment tool for librarians seeking an organizational home.

At a minimum, the caucus leaders aim to arrange a monthly virtual meeting of interested caucus and potential MLA members and make available to them the detailed notes from each session. Additional activities could also be planned as caucus membership increases and interest arises.
