What will happen to my existing meeting registration?
MLA is retooling its registration systems to allow the conversion of existing face-to-face registrations to alternate packages, and to accept new registrations. All new registrations and requests for modifications or refunds to existing registrations will be accepted after we finish revisions (est. June 1, 2020).
Will attendees and exhibitors be refunded by MLA for hotel and airline costs?
- MLA will not be able to reimburse you for your travel expenses.
- If you did not book your hotel with onPeak, you will need to transfer your hotel reservations to August as soon as possible, or cancel them.
- We suggest you contact your airline and request to refund or receive credit for your your flights as soon as possible.
Will registration fees be refunded?
For those who have already registered, MLA is retooling its registration systems to allow the conversion of existing face-to-face registrations to alternate packages, and to accept new registrations. All new registrations and requests for modifications or refunds to existing registrations will be accepted after we finish revisions (est. June 1, 2020).
Should you still need to cancel your registration, there will be no cancellation fees. We will communicate individually with those requesting cancellations; please give us untilthe week of June 1 to connect with you and confirm your wishes.
Will any sessions be made available virtually?
Yes! We are are now planning a fill vConference for MLA ’20. Watch for further information on plans in the next few weeks.
Do I need to cancel my hotel reservation?
If you booked your May or August reservation through OnPeak, you do not need to cancel existing hotel reservations, as they will be cancelling your reservation for you. You will receive further information and no other action will be needed on your part.
If you did NOT make a reservation through onPeak, you will need to cancel your reservations individually as soon as possible.
What will happen with posters, papers and abstracts?
MLA strongly encourages poster and other educational session presenters to continue with preparations. MLA will be contacting all scheduled presenting authors as we plan enhanced virtual conference sessions.
