Featured Speakers for MLA ‘22

The 2022 John P. McGovern Lecture will be given by Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha, MD, MPH, FAAP. She documented her role in uncovering the Flint water crisis and leading subsequent recovery efforts there in her best-selling book on the experience, What the Eyes Don’t See: A Story of Crisis, Resistance, and Hope in an American City. Her advocacy and persistence helped turned the crisis around, and we eagerly anticipate learning how she used science and her role as a public health expert to help an entire city.

Our 2022 Janet Doe Lecture will be given by Michael Kronenfeld, MLS, MBA, AHIP, FMLA. His celebrated career as a health sciences informational professional has been reflected in the more than thirty articles published in peer-reviewed journals. In March 2021, his book, A History of Medical Libraries and Medical Librarianship: From John Shaw Billings to the Digital Era, was published by Rowman and Littlefield as part of MLA’s book publishing program. His lecture will be primarily based on this research.
