This statement reflects the opinion of the Federal Library Caucus of MLA, and does not necessarily reflect the official position of the Medical Library Association (MLA).
The Federal Library Caucus (FLC) stands in solidarity with our Asian American and Pacific Islander colleagues. We echo the statements of solidarity shared by our AAMLA and Latinx Caucuses and condemn discrimination, aggression, and violence against AAPI communities. We support equity, diversity, and inclusion for every person regardless of race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability or age. We vow to speak up against discrimination in any form or white supremacy within the library community and society at large.
We share the same list put forth by the Latinx Caucus. As members of the FLC Caucus, we will:
* Support efforts to help create an AAPI Caucus in MLA
* Take part in Bystander Training Opportunities
* Ask others to read the Stop AAPI Hate National Report and other reports documenting the extent of violence against the AAPI community.
