Official Meeting Blogger: NAHRS Dinner MLA'19

I’ve been wanting to get more involved with the various sections and SIGs. One of these is the Nursing and Allied Health Resources Section (NAHRS). Unfortunately, I couldn’t make the business meeting, but I had a lovely time at the group’s dinner. Informal gatherings like these are a great way to meet other attendees. Eleven of us went to Park Grill Chicago, located under the Cloud Gate, affectionately called the Bean by locals. Topics of conversation included (at least on my end of the table):

  • Scholarly communications and predatory publishers - and how to teach these concepts
  • Developing students’ citations
  • Library buildings and spaces
  • Being on the tenure-track
  • Previous NAHRS meetings

A word of warning if you’re planning on visiting the Park Grill in the future: the chocolate cake is GIGANTIC.
