Call for MLA’19 Abstract Reviewers

Submitted by MLA ‘19 Contributed Content Working Group

The 2019 National Programming Committee invites reviewers for papers, posters, and lightning talks for MLA ’19, to be held May 3–8, 2019, in Chicago, IL.

To apply, fill out the Reviewer Interest form by October 17, 2018.

New this year, there will be two rounds of submissions and reviews.

Papers Review Period: October 29, 2018, to November 12, 2018.

Posters and Lightning Talks Review Period: January 29, 2019, to February 9, 2019.

Reviewers are encouraged (but not required) to participate in both rounds of reviews.

Time Commitment: 5–8 hours to read and score abstracts.

Training Session: Available the second half of October. Reviewers will be notified.

Method: Reviews will occur on an online system. System is accessible 24/7 during the review time frame. The training will be recorded and available throughout the entire review period. By filling out this interest form, you will receive an invitation to this training.

The role of an MLA abstract reviewer is separate from the abstract submission process. The online reviewing system will not match reviewers with their own abstracts and will include a method for reviewers to recuse themselves from reviewing specific abstracts for any reason.

All MLA members are welcome to participate in reviewing of abstracts.  Please share this message with colleagues. If you have any questions, concerns, or comments, contact the Contributed Content Working Group.
