With the emergence of COVID-19, many conferences have been cancelled or postponed. Some organizations are investigating a virtual alternative. MCMLA conducted virtual annual meetings in the past and will again do so this October. We have refined planning and continue to learn from our experiences.

The New York-New Jersey (NY-NJ) Chapter, with an invitation to the Philadelphia Regional Chapter, met in New Brunswick, NJ, on November 6, 2019. Seventy-five members and thirteen vendors gathered at the Rutgers University Inn & Conference Center for a profitable full-day meeting.

The 56th annual meeting of the Pacific Northwest Chapter of MLA (PNC/MLA) was held in Boise, Idaho, from October 27–29, 2019. The theme was “Reaching Out: Creating Connections,” and the conference poster featured otters, because PNC/MLA recently voted to have an otter as our mascot!
