The Research Awards Committee of the MLA Research Section is seeking judges for research papers and posters at MLA ’19 in Chicago. You may participate as a poster judge if you are presenting a paper or as a paper judge if you are presenting a poster. If you are willing to help, please fill out the online form by Friday, April 5.
Duties for online judging
View assigned paper or poster abstracts online before the meeting and rate the abstract, using the abstract section of the judging evaluation forms that will be provided. Evaluations will need to be completed between April 8 and 19.
Duties for those judging at MLA
If possible, attend the meeting of the Research Awards Committee on Sunday, May 5, 2019, 8:00 a.m.–8:55 a.m., to receive final judging instructions. If this is not possible, other arrangements can be made.
The poster judges visit assigned posters during the poster session time to talk with the presenters. The paper judges attend assigned paper sessions.
All judges complete the evaluation forms and submit the results online by May 24, 2019, or by an otherwise agreed upon deadline. If you have any questions, please contact Kimberly R. Powell, Research Awards Committee.
