Job Description

This role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings. Strauss Health Sciences Library employees receive an annual professional development stipend and the opportunity for career mentorship in health sciences librarianship.

The Acquisitions and Collections Analysis Librarian is a non-tenure-track faculty position that will lead the library’s acquisitions, collection budget management, and collection assessment activities within the Collection Management department.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Lead acquisitions workflows for continuing resources, including journals, databases, and large ebook packages.
  • Collaborate with the Department Head in monitoring the collections budget (approximately $3.3 million), including forecasting, tracking expenditures, and reporting.
  • Lead collection analysis and reporting, including national surveys and institutional reporting.

New graduates and new to health sciences librarians are encouraged to apply. On-the-job training is provided and encouraged. Preferred qualifications are not required for consideration for this position.

Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in library science. For current library students, Master’s degree must be earned by October 31, 2026.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in acquisitions, budgeting, or collection development in an academic or health sciences library.
  • Experience in reviewing and negotiating license agreements/contracts in an academic library.
  • Experience with a Library Services Platform (LSP), such as ExLibris Alma.
  • Experience working with acquisitions and/or funds management modules in an LSP.
  • Experience working with a university finance system for processing payments and/or monitoring collections budget, such as SciQuest and PeopleSoft.
  • Demonstrated experience with data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience with e-resource renewals and/or life cycle.
  • Familiarity with COUNTER usage metrics.
Salary Information

$73,923.00-$86,490.64
