Professional Development

MLA offers professional and career development opportunities and resources for practicing health sciences librarians, recent graduates, nurses, and others.

Expertise among our members has ensured MLA education programs are a touchstone within the profession. Built around educational competencies, the learning objectives of MLA courses are designed to improve the performance of individuals within specific competencies.

MLA Competencies for Lifelong Learning & Professional Success

Professional competencies identify essential professional skills and abilities that can be observed, measured, and taught.
