Healthcare and information environments continue to evolve rapidly, but medical librarians remain a trusted source of guidance, evidence, and support for clinicians, researchers, educators, students, and patients.
Don’t be shy about sharing your value. Showcase the ways your work improves decision-making, advances research, supports patient care, strengthens education, and helps your organization navigate an increasingly complex information landscape.
Celebrate your accomplishments, share success stories, promote your services, and remind your community of the many ways medical librarians make a difference. Whether it’s through social media posts, presentations, newsletters, displays, email signatures, or conversations with stakeholders, NMLM is the perfect time to advocate for your profession and demonstrate your impact.
And don’t stop in October. Use National Medical Librarians Month as a launchpad for year-round self-advocacy.
