We’re seeking a Research and Learning Librarian to join our team and support students, faculty, and staff in advancing teaching, learning, and research. Reporting to the Director of Library Services, the Research and Learning Librarian for the College of Nursing will partner with students, faculty, and staff to advance teaching, learning, and research. Through point-of-need instruction, personalized research support, and a commitment to evidence-based practice, this position plays an integral role in preparing future healthcare leaders to make a meaningful impact on the communities we serve!

Job Description

Essential Functions

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with faculty and staff within assigned academic programs.
  • Design and deliver in-person and online library instruction sessions and workshops.
  • Provide research support and consultations to students, faculty, and staff, including assistance with literature reviews, systematic reviews, and other research activities.
  • Create and maintain point-of-need materials, training videos, and online research guides.
  • Promote library instruction and research services that integrate into the academic curriculum.
  • Participate in collection development and initiatives to enhance access to library resources across all campuses.
  • Maintain current knowledge of academic health sciences librarianship through professional literature and ongoing development (e.g., Academy of Health Information Professionals).
  • Participate in university committees, service activities, and institutional events as requested.
  • Assist with service desk coverage.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science from an American Library Association (ALA)-accredited program (must be completed within six months of start date).
  • Library reference experience or relevant academic coursework.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Instruction or group presentation experience.
  • Academic library experience (including paraprofessional experience).
  • Familiarity with health sciences resources, databases, or terminology.
Salary Information

$61,000 to $64,000
