Overview
MLA’s premier event draws more than 1,500 participants including medical librarians and other health information professionals, international attendees, and exhibitors. MLA ’21 offers a variety of opportunities for attending educational sessions, seeing the latest products from exhibitors, and interacting with colleagues.
Special Announcement (October 20, 2020)
Planning for a future conference in the era of Covid-19 remains a challenge because of the uncertainty related to the ability to meet in-person. We are also aware that health information professionals and their employers are excluding travel for the first half of 2021 because of budget reductions, continued travel restrictions and the perceived increased realization by all stakeholders that Covid-19 will continue to be a major disruptor through 2021.
MLA announces that the 2021 conference experience will include a virtual component that builds on the success of the MLA '20 vConference and Exhibits, with improvements based on feedback and lessons learned (see schedule below).
A pared-down in-person experience in Washington DC in May 2021 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel will be an option that will supplement the main vConference and Exhibits, should the hotel venue reopen and Washington D.C. restrictions on meeting sizes be removed.

MLA’s goal is to ensure that members, volunteers, and staff have a high level of awareness related to diversity, equity and inclusion issues, and ensure that our organizational behavior reflects the diversity of the profession, and of those we serve at our institutions.

Pricing
Prices below are indicative, and subject to change prior to registration opening by end of January 2021.
Pricing rules are as follows:
- Member Emeritus, Retired, Student, Unemployed and Lower Dues: 50% discount from Member Regular rate
- Non-member: 30% surcharge from Member Regular rate
- Volume pricing ("institutional")
- 5-pack: 20% discount (5 for the price of 4)
- 10-pack: 30% discount (10 for the price of 7)
- 15-pack (new): 40% discount (15 for the price of 9)
- 20-pack: 50% discount (20 for the price of 10)
MLA will continue to provide no-charge registration for those needing financial support (rolling applications will open at the same time as registration).
