We’re excited to welcome back Terrie Wheeler and Diana Delgado for an update on their impactful IMLS-funded project! Many of you attended their presentation last year and will remember their innovative work with the Samuel J. Wood Library of Weill Cornell Medical College and Mentoring in Medicine.

About the Presentation:

This Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) grant-funded initiative introduces high school students from underrepresented backgrounds to library science and health literacy. The curriculum blends foundational health literacy skills with exposure to careers in librarianship, especially in the health sciences.

During this session, presenters will:

– Share sample modules and student-centered activities from their curriculum
– Highlight Best practices for engaging BIPOC high school students
– Access to their free online curriculum toolkit
– Progress updates from year two of implementation

This session offers valuable insights for librarians interested in outreach, health literacy education, and diversifying our profession.

We hope you can join us for this informative session!
