It’s almost time to submit your poster proposals for MLA 2027! The New Members Caucus is excited to host Karen Gutzman’s presentation titled “Conference Posters: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly”.
Conference posters need to communicate complex ideas quickly, clearly, and visually, but creating an effective poster can be surprisingly challenging. This session will explore practical strategies for designing and presenting conference posters, including approaches to layout, typography, color, images, and data visualization. We’ll look at examples of what works (and what doesn’t), discuss copyright and image reuse, and share practical tips for creating a poster that helps viewers understand and engage with your work.
