Generative AI is rapidly becoming part of everyday library work—but how can health sciences librarians use it effectively, ethically, and with confidence? This interactive webinar offers a practical introduction to generative AI and its real-world applications in health sciences librarianship.
The session begins with a brief, accessible overview of how generative AI works, followed by hands-on, practice-driven use cases presented by two experienced health sciences librarians. Speakers will demonstrate how they use generative AI to support day-to-day tasks, advanced searching, and language interpretation, offering concrete examples you can adapt to your own workflow.
Throughout the session, participants will be invited to reflect on their own experiences through live survey questions and guided discussion prompts. You’ll have opportunities to share how you currently use generative AI—or how you plan to use it in the future—while learning from colleagues working in diverse settings and languages.
Designed for early-career librarians, those new to generative AI, and anyone looking to expand their toolkit, this webinar emphasizes practical strategies, informed decision-making, and responsible use.
You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of the benefits, risks, and limitations of generative AI—and with actionable ideas you can put into practice right away.
