Obituary: Priscilla Stephenson, AHIP 

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Priscilla Lampman Stephenson, who died on May 17, 2026. Priscilla is survived by her sons, Giles Stephen Swatos and Eric Swatos. 

Priscilla had a remarkable career in medical librarianship. She was a mentor, editor, author, and leader whose service strengthened medical libraries and supported colleagues across the profession. She contributed generously to MLA through many roles, including service on the Editorial Review Board of the Journal of the Medical Library Association (JMLA), editor roles for MLA and chapter publications, and leadership in the Southern Chapter of MLA and on multiple committees, sections, and task forces.
