Join the Hospital Library Caucus’ Cross-Border Connections Professional Development Series

Submitted by: Michelle Bass

Professional connections and programming inspiration can come from unexpected places. For this new professional development series from the Hospital Library Caucus (HLC), it was LinkedIn. I came across a post from a fellow hospital librarian in Canada sharing her experience presenting at the European Association for Health Information and Libraries (EAHIL) on a topic of great interest: working with nurse educators. After connecting, I thought about the fact that many would benefit from hearing about innovative projects and presentations from other health science library conferences. And thus, a series began.

In the first session, a presenter from the MLA HLC and the Canadian Health Libraries Association Nursing Interest Group (CHLA/ABSC) will share work they recently showcased at international conferences. It will create an opportunity to extend our conversations, exchange ideas, and explore how innovative practices can be adapted across our respective organizations.
