MLA is pleased to announce the 2026 Research Training Institute (RTI) cohort. RTI ’26 is an immersive, year-long online program that provides advanced training in research methods alongside dedicated mentorship as participants design and complete a research project. The program culminates with participants presenting their work at a special RTI poster session during the MLA Annual Conference.
This year’s cohort includes 33 participants, among them five embedded LIS graduate students. Instruction and mentorship are led by an experienced faculty of research experts, with additional guidance provided by five peer coaches who are former RTI Fellows. Participants were selected through a highly competitive application process that emphasized commitment to learning, enthusiasm for research, and the strength of proposed research projects.
MLA is encouraged by the continued enthusiasm for the RTI program and extends sincere thanks to all who applied for the program and scholarships. Congratulations to the RTI ’26 participants!
