Call for Proposals: South Central Chapter of MLA 2026 Annual Meeting
Submitted by: Lindsay Blake
Theme: Cowtown Connections: Community, Culture & Collaboration
Location: Fort Worth, Texas
Dates: October 16–20, 2026
The SCC/MLA Program Committee invites you to saddle up and join us in the “City of Cowboys and Culture” for our 2026 Annual Meeting! This year, we are celebrating Cowtown Connections, the powerful ways we bridge gaps through community engagement, celebrate our unique institutional cultures, and build lasting professional collaborations.
A library’s strength comes from the collective expertise of the entire team. We welcome and encourage colleagues across all concentrations and roles in the library to submit a proposal. Whether your work is in Access Services & Circulation, Archives & Collections, Outreach & Engagement, Reference & Research, or Technical Services & Discovery, we want to hear from you. Together, we build community, honor culture, and advance collaboration – core to the spirit of Cowtown Connections.
We want to hear how you are fostering connections in your stretch of the range!
Ways to Share Your Expertise
We are looking for engaging sessions that highlight innovation across all library departments:
- Papers: Present your projects or findings (15 min presentation + 5 min Q&A).
- Lightning Talks: Share a high-impact idea or “quick win” (5 min total).
- Poster Presentations: Showcase your work visually and network with colleagues.
- Roundtables: Lead a collaborative discussion on a shared challenge or trend.
