2026 SCMLA Annual Meeting: Call for Abstracts

The SC/MLA Program Committee invites submissions for contributed papers, posters, and lightning talks for the Southern Chapter of the Medical Library Association (SCMLA) Annual Meeting, to be held September 23–26, 2026, in Birmingham, Alabama.

This year’s theme, “Strike While the Iron is Hot: Forging Ideas, Connections, and Community,” encourages us to share ideas, strengthen partnerships, and support one another in the evolving landscape of medical librarianship and health information services. Whether reconnecting with colleagues or building new relationships, attendees will benefit from the exchange of practical insights and collaborative learning.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

• Please submit abstracts through this submission form
• Submission deadline: July 17, 2026 (11:59 p.m., eastern time)
• Abstract requirements:
  • Maximum 300 words
  • Structured format following MLA Research Section guidelines
  • Blinded for peer review (no identifying author or institutional information)
• Notification of acceptance/rejection: August 7, 2026
