Activity Reports

MLA leaders are required to report key achievements, actions, and activities from their MLA community — including efforts that support community building and foster a sense of belonging. This includes:

This includes:   

  • allied representatives
  • appointed officials
  • caucus chairs
  • chapter presidents/chairs
  • committee chairs
  • program chairs/directors
  • task force chairs

Note: Juries do not submit reports here. They report activities to the Awards Committee or the Grants & Scholarship Committee.

Midyear Reports

  • Due in mid-October each year.
  • Reports should provide a brief update on activities since the spring annual report.
  • Prepare report information in a separate document before copying it into the submission form. Note that once the report is submitted, no further edits can be made.
    • Executive Summary – 6 bullet points, 800 character total limit
    • Fostering Community Building or Belonging – Share fairness, representation, and belonging related initiatives or activities since annual conference.
  • Reports will be shared with the Board of Directors at their November meeting.

Annual Reportssee form below

  • Due in early April each year,
  • Reports should highlight the top achievements, actions, and activities of the community since the last annual report.
  • Prepare report information in a separate document before copying it into the submission form. Note that once the report is submitted, no further edits can be made.
    • Executive Summary – In 6 bullet points (1000 characters total limit), summarize the top achievements, activities or actions in the last 12 months.
    • Fostering Community Building or Belonging – Share fairness, representation, and belonging related initiatives or activities in the last 12 months.
    • Strategic Plan – List the latest goals, strategies, and status of specific objectives. If possible, include dates, metrics, and schedules.
    • MLA Strategic Plan – List specific contributions to MLA strategic goals (if applicable).
    • Facts and Data – List key events held, items published, resources created, or other data.
    • Leadership Roster – Found in community home on MLANET.
    • People Update – (Not applicable to all groups)
  • Reports will be shared with the Board of Directors at their May meeting.
  • Annual reports become part of the association’s permanent record.
  • Previous annual reports (1980-present) are available in the members-only file library on MLANET.
  • Older reports are archived at the National Library of Medicine.
