The Chapter Council is the representative body of MLA chapters. It advises the Board of Directors and promotes interchange among chapters. MLA chapters are independent 501c(3) entities recognized by MLA provided they meet the conditions and procedures set forth by the Board of Directors.
The chair of the Chapter Council is an ex-officio voting member of the MLA Board of Directors, elected for a three-year term by chapter representatives on the council.
