As part of the application process for the MLA Research Training Institute (RTI), applicants submit a list of key words or phrases that describe the topic of their research. Above is a word cloud of the key words that were submitted to the 2021 RTI program. This image visualizes the word frequency of the key words from the applications. The larger the word in the cloud, the more times it was mentioned by the applicants. Even though word clouds are guestimates, they are fun and interesting, and they are one way to analyze the current research interests of health sciences librarians.
