Apply Now for MLA Grants, Scholarships, and Awards – Deadline November 15, 2025
Did you know that MLA offers over 50 recognitions and awards more than $95,000 annually in grants, scholarships, and awards? Whether you’re pursuing advanced education, professional development, or travel support, MLA provides meaningful opportunities to invest in your career.
MLA also honors members who have made exceptional contributions to health sciences librarianship. Know someone who’s made a profound impact? Has your chapter or caucus completed an outstanding project?
Application and nomination forms open September 11, 2025, and are due by November 15, 2025, earlier than last year, so don’t wait to apply!
What’s New This Year?
MLA has reimagined its recognitions to better serve members:
- More Funding: Total support increased from $92,000 to $95,000.
- Expanded Opportunities: Professional development and travel grants have grown from 13 to 32.
- Simplified Process: The number of juries has been reduced from 35 to 12, and one application now covers multiple travel awards.
- Aligned Awards: Writing awards are standardized at $750, and the “Librarian of the Year” awards are set at $1,500.
- Smarter Sustainability: Endowment restructuring (where legally possible) has boosted the Scholarship Fund from $400K to $770K, strengthening MLA’s long-term support for members.
