Cancer Librarians Caucus

• Core Cancer Library 2021, 5th Edition The Core Cancer Library is one of the public resources maintained by the Cancer Librarians Caucus, created in support of collection development at professional and patient cancer libraries. This resource provides an overview of books on cancer to consider when building or adding to a collection, with a focus on more recent titles published by academic publishers. Each book title in the Core Cancer Library has the following fields: title, edition if applicable, last name of first author or editor, publisher, year published, eBook ISBN if available in this format, publisher’s price at the time of data collection, and a link to the title on the publisher’s website. Book series include the following fields: title, last name of first series editor, publisher, ISSN, and a link to the series on the publisher’s website. This is not an exhaustive list, but a thoughtful selection across different areas in the field of oncology.

Collection Development Caucus

• Health Sciences Collection Development: An Overview of Fundamental Knowledge and Practices (2nd ed.) was created by Collection Development Caucus members to provide librarians with key concepts about health sciences collection development. The chapters provide an overview of the responsibilities and tasks involved in the development and management of health sciences collections; it is recommended that readers refer to the references and further reading sections in each chapter for a more detailed look at each topic.
