Introduction to Data Management provides health information professionals with a solid foundation in the growing area of research data management. You’ll learn the basics of assisting researchers with creating data management plans, identifying data sources, sharing data effectively and efficiently, and preserving and archiving data. You’ll be able to take the lead in guiding researchers in making informed data decisions.

Audience
Medical librarians and other health information professionals who want to assist researchers with managing research data. Little or no experience required.

Caitlin Bakker is our data management expert. She is the Research Services Librarian at the University of Minnesota Health Sciences Libraries. Her focus is on developing and providing research support services for faculty in the Health Sciences, including support for data management, open science, reproducibility, systematic reviews, and research impact assessment. She holds an MLIS from McGill University and is a senior member of AHIP. Her research interests include research and publication ethics and science communication.
