Education: MLA Competencies Revision Taskforce

This taskforce will revise the MLA Competencies for Lifelong Learning and Professional Success with a target completion date of May 31, 2026, under the oversight of the Education Steering Committee. The last revision was completed in 2017, and we believe it is an opportune time to update these standards to ensure they reflect current and emerging needs in our field.

The taskforce is comprised of a minimum of 6 individuals spanning expertise in all 6 current competencies. The proposed revision will be reviewed by a separate peer group, with final approval by the MLA Board of Directors.
