Contributed Content Metrics
For each conference, the National Program Committee Contributed Content Working Group (CCWG) reviews and updates selection rubrics for papers, immersion sessions, lightning talks, and posters. We've added MLA | SLA '23 rubrics, which will be updated mid-February with posters and lightning talks.
How is content selected?
- Volunteer reviewers are trained to review anonymized submitted content and (upon request) provide comments along with a final score.
- Immersion sessions are reviewed directly by the CCWG.
- The CCWG makes final selections on what content will be accepted for each year's conference.
- The number and percentages of accepted presentations will vary according to the number of submissions received.
- Comments from reviewers are available to contributors.
- Unsuccessful paper and immersion session contributors may resubmit their presentations for a poster or lightning talk.
The following table provides data on submissions and acceptance numbers and rates from MLA | SLA '23 followed by additional information for past MLA conferences.

** New voices are defined as presentations or sessions where at least one author has never presented. New Voices metrics are collected during content updates by authors ahead of the conference.
NOTE: submissions withdrawn post-acceptance are not reflected in final counts.
