Sneak Peek: Accepted Immersion Sessions and Papers
The National Program Committee has accepted the following Immersion Sessions and Papers to be presented at the MLA '21 vConference. Only area(s) of practice and titles are noted below. Watch for more information later in February!
Immersion Sessions
Immersion sessions are meant to provide an in-depth perspective on areas of interest to vConference attendees. Immersion sessions are usually presented live and can vary in format from a panel of invited speakers to a single invited speaker, a facilitated book discussion, as well as less-conventional sessions like an “unconference” or flipped session. The only type of programming excluded from immersion sessions are paper presentations.
Areas of practice, also known as "domain hubs," provide a focus for conference and other MLA content. View definitions of practice areas, plus caucus domain hub leaders and ongoing recommended initiatives.

Papers
Presenters can choose to submit papers that have either a research focus or a program description focus. Research abstracts and program description abstracts are reviewed and accepted using separate rubrics:
- Research abstracts report on designing, conducting, and analyzing a research project.
- Program description abstracts describe the creation and improvement of products, programs, technologies, administrative practices, or services that librarians and information professionals conduct.
In the table below, papers are sorted by practice area and title, with the focus identified after the title. Please note that titles have not been edited from the original submission.
