    Presented by MLA’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, the Living Library is comprised of “books.” Each book is a person who has a lived experience that often is met with stereotypes, prejudices, and misunderstandings. Each book will share an introduction to their experience, and readers may ask the book questions without judgment. This is a chance to discuss topics people may not understand well through those that have experienced them. We look forward to your participation in this popular, interactive and enlightening experience.

    In 2020, JMLA launched an initiative aimed at providing more equitable opportunities for authors, reviewers, and editorial team members. This session provides an update on the steps we have taken thus far to empower authors, increase the diversity of our editorial team, and make equity-minded recommendations to MLA. We’ll also share information about additional new and exciting JMLA developments.

    2021 MLA Research Training Institute Fellows Ignite Session Connect Here

    The Research Training Institute (RTI) faculty and fellows invite you to ignite, enlighten, and inspire your creativity and learn more about research and how its benefits your library and users.

    The session features fast-paced and engaging “ignite” talks by the RTI fellows about their research projects and results. Faculty and fellows will also share ideas and discuss their research experiences and challenges of conducting successful research projects in the real world.
