MLA ’18 Invitation

On behalf of the Medical Library Association (MLA), the 2018 National Program Committee, and the 2018 Local Assistance Committee, we invite you to join us at the first MLA annual meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, from May 18–23, 2018. We have worked hard to plan an inspiring meeting that celebrates our members’ ability to Adapt, Transform, and Lead (ATL) every day in our many roles as medical librarians.

The symbol of the rising phoenix in the meeting logo reflects Atlanta’s official seal and celebrates the city’s rise from the ashes of the Civil War to become the 21st century “capital city of the Southeast” with its rich history and diversity.

The Hyatt Regency Atlanta provides the best combination of excellent meeting spaces and hotel accommodations under one roof. Just outside the hotel doors are wonderful restaurants and vibrant night spots. It is a short walk or ride on the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) to some of the most popular sites in the city: the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site, the CNN Center, the World of Coca-Cola, Centennial Olympic Park, and the High Museum of Art, to name just a few.

We have planned a varied program of contributed papers, lightning talks, special content sessions, posters, and featured speakers that reflect the diversity and excitement of our host city. Meeting exhibitors will update you on new products and services, and as always, the meeting will offer wonderful opportunities to network with colleagues and make new professional connections.

The MLA ’18 planning groups look forward to seeing you in the ATL as we successfully Adapt, Transform, and Lead into the future!
