Network and Connect at MLA ‘19 – #mlanet19

Elevate your network and connect with colleagues at MLA ’19! Formal and informal networking events abound in Chicago.  Some of the scheduled MLA ’19 networking events include:

Dinner Dine Arounds (Thursday & Friday, 6 pm):  If you are arriving in Chicago Thursday or Friday, enjoy a great meal and even better company with fellow librarians! Each attendee pays their own way at local restaurant favorites.

Welcome Reception and Opening of the Hall of Exhibits (Saturday, 5-7:30 pm): All meeting registrants are invited to attend the Welcome Reception and Opening of the Hall of Exhibits at the Hyatt Regency Chicago.

New Members/First-Time Attendees Program and Breakfast (Sunday, 7-8:55 am): Are you a new member or a member attending your first annual meeting? To receive an invitation, please check the new member box on the registration form.

Library School Reunion Tea (Tuesday, 1-1:55 pm): Grab an afternoon beverage and a bite to eat while you reconnect and network with alumni from your library school! No registration required.

More scheduled networking events are available here.

Informal networking can be valuable, and attending conferences is one of the best ways to connect with colleagues.  Not everyone feels comfortable making small talk with strangers, but by being at the conference you already have something in common. Find the networking events (informal or formal) that fit best, and make the most of them!

See you in Chicago!
