MLA | SLA ’23 Call for Reviewers

The 2023 National Programming Committee invites members to sign up to review papers, posters, and lightning talk abstracts for the MLA | SLA ’23 annual conference.

To apply, fill out the MLA | SLA ’23 Reviewer Signup form by October 26, 2022.

This year, there will be two rounds of submissions and reviews.

  • Round 1: Papers review period: November 2-18, 2022
  • Round 2: Posters and lightning talks review period: February 1-15, 2023

Reviewers are encouraged (but not required) to participate in both rounds of reviews.

Time commitment: Approximately three hours to read and score abstracts per round.

Required Training Session: October 26 at 1:00 p.m., central time. Reviewers will be provided with the meeting details closer to the date. This training will be recorded for those unable to attend.

Method: Reviews will be processed through the online review system, which is accessible 24/7 during the review time frame. The reviewer training session will be recorded and available throughout the entire review period. By filling out the survey, you will receive an invitation to this training.

The role of an MLA abstract reviewer is separate from the abstract submission process. The online reviewing system automatically prevents reviewers from reviewing their own abstracts and includes a method for reviewers to recuse themselves from reviewing specific abstracts for any reason.

All MLA members are welcome to participate in the reviewing of abstracts and will receive 1 AHIP point for their participation.

Please share this message with colleagues. If you have any questions, concerns, or comments about the reviewing process, contact the Contributed Content Working Group.

Find information about submissions for contributed papers and immersion sessions for MLA | SLA ’23.

We look forward to your participation and questions at the reviewer training.
