MLA 2022 Program Highlights

The 2022 MLA annual conference in New Orleans, LA is fast approaching so we wanted to highlight some of the programming coming your way ... whether you’re attending in-person or virtually.

On the MLA '22 home page, you’ll find this Sneak Peek to some of the Immersion Sessions (in-person only) and Papers (in-person and virtual) that are being prepared by MLA members. You’ll find both Immersion Sessions and Papers are assigned an MLA Area of Practice to help you find what might be of interest to you.

Lightning Talks and Posters are being planned as well for both in-person and virtual attendance.

Another highlight for the 2022 meeting is the special Symposium on 21st Century Health Sciences Collection Development & Resource Sharing, which is spread throughout the 3 days of the in-person meeting. The Planning Committee for this Symposium has decided to focus on the following areas:

  • Collection development policies and philosophy
  • Copyright
  • Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion
  • Librarian/publisher relationships
  • Negotiation
  • Trends and tools in collection development

Two in-person Continuing Education courses also have been scheduled. You can register for these courses when you register for the meeting.

Whether it's virtually or in-person, Emily and I (as your NPC co-chairs) hope you can join us for MLA '22!
