Brief description of responsibilities

My main responsibilities are coordinating the library-led evidence based medicine (EBM) content creation and delivery at IUSM. I also supervise our Access Services Department.

Why is MLA important to you?

MLA keeps me connected to colleagues and allows me to tap into the professional knowledge of my peers.

What was your first library job or first professional position?

My first library job was a graduate assistantship at the Environmental Protection Agency in Research Triangle Park, NC.

What is your advice to someone taking on a new role in leadership in MLA or in some other capacity?

Don’t be afraid to reach out for help! If you don’t know something or need advice, ask.

What has been the most interesting project you have worked on?

The most interesting project I’ve worked on to date has been my response to intervention (RTI) research project assessing two different approaches to teaching EBM in medical school.

What do you do in your spare time?

In my spare time, I like to run, read, and cook.

What is the best thing you’ve read/watched/listened to recently?

I love the TV show (and movie) What We Do in the Shadows. It is genuinely the funniest thing I’ve ever seen.

Is there anything about you that others might be surprised to know?

I have five cats!
