Join the COVID-19 Conversation: I Feel Fine: A Musical Happy Half-Hour

Date: Thursday, April 23

Time: 2:00 p.m., pacific time; 3:00 p.m., mountain time; 4:00 p.m., central time; 5:00 p.m., eastern time. Note the Thursday date and special mid/late afternoon times for this session.

Audience: Medical librarians, music lovers, and anyone feeling stressed these days.

Sally Gore, Lamar Soutter Library, University of Massachusetts Medical School–Worcester, and Eugenia Opuda, Dimond Library, University of New Hampshire–Durham, will treat participants to a half-hour of musical delights and sharing about the role of music in times of stress. Gore will sing and play guitar. Opuda will perform on the guzheng, the Chinese zither. They will tell you how they find comfort and release in music and invite your thoughts on how music helps you cope. They also invite you to share playlists, links to songs and videos, and favorite comfort and coping music in the session Slack channel.

This is the fifth in a series of free, live, online conversations, Coping and Caring in the Time of COVID-19. These weekly conversations for MLA members and the wider health information professional community are designed to help you address professional and personal pain points related to the current crisis.
