Montgomery's research will examine the perceptions and attitudes of osteopathic medical students about participating in research. The Start-Up grant will fund the purchase of qualitative analysis software and provide incentives for students who agree to be interviewed.

Montgomery is a fellow of the 2021 MLA Research Training Institute (RTI), and this project is the focus of her research. The RTI project was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (RE-95-17-0025-17).
