MLA and AAHSL comments on Draft Desirable Characteristics of Repositories for Managing and Sharing Data Resulting from Federally Funded Research

The Medical Library Association (MLA) and Association of Academic Health Sciences Libraries (AAHSL) have responded to the Request for Comments from the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) on Draft Desirable Characteristics of Repositories for Managing and Sharing Data Resulting from Federally Funded Research.

The associations' comments address and make recommendations on the following issues:

  • desirable characteristics of all data repositories
  • long-term sustainability
  • metadata
  • curation and quality assurance
  • free and easy access and reuse
  • common formats, provenance
  • fidelity to consent
