Are you a library professional interested in learning more about the research process? Do you have a brilliant idea or research topic that you want to pursue but do not know where to start and need support to carry it through? The Research Training Institute (RTI) is a unique, intensive, and collaborative program that takes you through a process of learning research design and completing a health information research project with the support of peers and research experts. Librarians of all levels of professional experience who provide health services, collections, and support and who have an interest in increasing their research competencies to contribute to library and health improvements are encouraged to apply to the RTI program.

The institute is a hands-on, residential workshop held on the campus of the University of Illinois–Chicago, July 13–17, 2020, followed by a year of support in completing a research project, mentoring, membership in an ongoing research community, and an opportunity to present findings at the MLA national meeting.

Research Training Institute (RTI) applications will be open until January 17, 2020

Applications are now being accepted through January 17, 2020, for the 2020 cohort of RTI research fellows. Accepted applicants will be notified in March 2020. See the RTI website for eligibility requirements and selection criteria. The institute also offers a growing number of scholarship opportunities.
