We Invite You to Apply to Become a 2022 MLA Research Training Institute Fellow

Over forty RTI Fellows have published or presented their RTI research. We invite you to submit an RTI application by January 12 to join their number!

Designed for practicing health sciences librarians and other health information professionals, the RTI is a year-long program of online classes, individual and small group mentoring, peer support, and membership in an online network of librarian-researchers.

With 2022, its fifth year, on the horizon, the RTI has become an MLA institution and a model for other research training programs. More importantly, it’s a vehicle for you to realize your goals of becoming a trained researcher. If you are not confident in your research skills now, our program evaluations suggest you will be. Levels of research confidence in the cohorts we have tracked rose significantly after their participation in the Institute.

Here’s what RTI  Fellows have said about their RTI experience:

“Participating in the RTI has been like getting a mini-PhD.”

“Excellent instructors, curriculum content, and course readings”

“RTI has helped me approach my research ideas from a place of empowerment instead of apprehension.”

“I now feel confident in my ability to forge forth with a project I’m passionate about.”

“One of the most productive and professional fulfilling milestones of my career.”

Follow us on Twitter (@RTIatMLA) and see what our Fellows are up to. If you have questions about the Institute or the application process, I invite you to reach out to me at slessick@uci.edu.
