Toronto Islands - one of Toronto's local attractions

There are a lot of things to see and do in Toronto, but when my family came to visit last summer I thought the best thing we did was visit the Toronto Islands!

The Toronto Islands are, essentially, a big park that features gardens, beaches, and an amusement park and petting zoo that are ideal for young children – perfect for relaxing away from the bustle of downtown. There are also a bunch of cute cottages on the island where people live year round. Fun fact: there is currently a five-hundred-person waiting list to buy one of the 262 residences.

The islands are just off shore from downtown, accessible via ferry or water taxi. For more information check out the City of Toronto’s website
