Open Forum: MLA Vision 2048

Join MLA’s Vision 2048 Task Force at this open forum and share your ideas about the future of the profession and MLA. As MLA prepares for its 125th anniversary in 2023, the board has charged this new task force with envisioning the future of the profession with community-driven activities and ideation that reflect the richness of MLA’s communities.
The format for the open forum will consist of a brief introduction from the Vision 2048 Task Force followed by a breakout session where you will have the opportunity to engage in conversation with your colleagues about opportunities and concerns for the future of our profession and the role of your professional association in enacting that future state. Within the breakout rooms, conversations can happen via video, audio and/or using the chat. The Vision 2048 Task Force will take the thoughts and ideas from these breakout sessions and use them to shape the work going forward. Not sure if you want to interact in a breakout setting? An email account and MLA page will be forthcoming where you can give feedback on the future of librarianship and MLA on your own time.
The Vision 2048 Task Force looks forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas that will help us plan ongoing community initiatives, activities, and content as we gear up for our 125th anniversary.
