Research and Education Librarian

The Biomedical Libraries, part of the Dartmouth College Libraries and the Geisel School of Medicine, seek a service-oriented, creative, and collaborative librarian with interest in education in the health sciences to join our team as research and education librarian. We are reenvisioning the educational programs and information services during an exciting time of curriculum renewal for the Geisel MD program and building upon strong partnerships and services to increase engagement and further embed the Biomedical Libraries into the curriculum and clinical and research services at Dartmouth. Reporting to the head of education and information services and as part of a team, the research and education librarian will provide research and education services to the Geisel School of Medicine, the Department of Biological Sciences, the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC), the Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice (TDI), and other programs to support research, scholarship, education, and patient care in the health and life sciences. In this role, the research and education librarian:

  • plans and creates a wide array of educational services to support Dartmouth, Geisel, and DHMC communities, developing, delivering, and assessing instruction in both classroom and online environments, collaborating with faculty and other colleagues.
  • provides research and reference services addressing faculty, staff, student, and patient information needs, and expert literature search services to support patient care, research, and systematic reviews.
  • cultivates relationships with a diverse client community, communicates effectively, and develops and implements new programs and services in consultation with appropriate staff.
