Poster and Lightning Talk Submissions Open Tomorrow, December 13, 2019!

The submission site for posters and lightning talks for MLA ’20 opens tomorrow, December 13, 2019, and will remain open until January 24, 2020.

Posters and lightning talks are great ways to share information about research or programs. Posters are visual and are staffed for a two-hour period during the meeting. Lightning talks are presentations that are just five minutes long.

Like papers, posters and lightning talks can be submitted as Program Descriptions or as Research Submissions. Both require a structured abstract; more information about structured abstracts can be found on the MLA Research Caucus page. Authors are also required to categorize their submissions with one of the seven MLA Areas of Practice: Clinical Support, Education, Global Health & Health Equity, Information Management, Information Services, Innovation & Research Practice, and Professionalism & Leadership.

If you happen to have submitted a paper or immersion session that was not accepted, consider how you might turn it into a poster or a five-minute lightning talk. Or perhaps you have had a flash of genius for a new topic to present! There is still time to reveal that flash in a poster or lightning talk.

Find more information on the submission process in the MLA ’20 FAQ: Papers, Posters, Lightning Talks, and Immersion Sessions.
