Due to COVID 19, MLA '20 has transitioned from an in-person meeting to a full-featured experience of virtual learning and networking. Visit https://www.mlanet.org/mla20 for details.

We hope you will join us in envisioning our future in focus at MLA ’20. The meeting will be taking place May 15–19 in Portland, OR. Portland is an incredibly diverse and exciting city with plenty to keep you occupied before, between, and after all of the informative and innovative meeting sessions.

Immerse yourself in amazing cultural experiences at the Portland Art Museum, Center for Native American Art (located within the Portland Art Museum), or Pittock Mansion or help keep Portland weird by visiting one of the more unique museums in the area.

Learn about Portland and the Pacific Northwest’s unique history by taking a tour of Portland’s Shanghai Tunnels/Underground, Fort Vancouver, or the Oregon Rail Heritage Center.

Recreate the Portland Yarn Crawl Tour or visit Textile Hive, Andrea Aranow’s textile design collection. Tours are $20 most Saturdays, and private and educational tours can also be arranged.

Sample fare at countless restaurants, breweries, cafés, food trucks, and cocktail bars. There is truly something for every taste and budget. The forthcoming MLA Restaurant Guide will highlight yummy choices close to the convention center and meeting hotels, as well as share favorites from your Pacific Northwest colleagues.
