New Orleans: A City Like No Other!

We hope to see you in May at MLA ‘22: Reconnect, Renew, Reflect, taking place May 4–6, 2022, in downtown New Orleans, Louisiana!

Did you know? New Orleans is called the Crescent City because of the course of the Mississippi River, which curves in a crescent shape around the city.

New Orleans (pronounced “New OR-lins”) is a historic, diverse city with something for everyone! With its very own distinct music culture, you can go out to hear live music any night of the week.

The historic French Quarter is the most famous part of the city, with its signature Spanish architecture. However, the other neighborhoods of New Orleans are home to even more historic sites, attractions, and places to eat.

Speaking of eating, New Orleans is also known for its food! From Cafe du Monde’s famous beignets, to corner stores with po’boys, or fine dining establishments, the city is world-renown for its restaurants and its unique food culture.
