Hospital Librarian in the Library Bar

Attending the MLA annual meeting affords one the opportunity to visit new places and explore new things!  Several of us decided to venture to the Fairmont Hotel here in downtown Toronto for high tea at the Library Bar!  Now my little hospital library doesn't have a bar in it, and I don't think I have been to a bar with a library in it - so this was a first for me!  We were seated at a cozy table elegantly set with coordinating tea cups, creamer and sugar vessels, and plates which were soon to be joined by steaming pots of our selected teas.  So many choices, including the daily "Librarian Libation" which was a very soothing chai blend.  The tea is masterfully brewed in pots large enough to share and regularly refilled.  Tea is accompanied by an assortment of 5 delicate and yummy finger sandwiches and a tower of heavenly desserts.  Chocolate lovers rejoice!  The edible cup with mango custard and berries was a party on my tongue!!  This relaxing afternoon was just "what the doctor ordered" before all of the excitement of Mosaic16 gets into full swing!
