The Biomedical Libraries, part of the Dartmouth College Libraries and the Geisel School of Medicine, seek an innovative, service-oriented, collaborative librarian with expertise in education and management to be our head of education and information services. We are reenvisioning the educational programs and information services during an exciting time of curriculum renewal for the Geisel MD program and building upon strong partnerships and services to increase engagement and further embed the Biomedical Libraries into the curriculum and clinical and research services at Dartmouth. Reporting to the director of Biomedical Libraries, and as part of the Biomedical Libraries Management Team, the head of education and information services is responsible for leading a team of creative librarians and staff to support the Dartmouth, Geisel, and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) communities. In this role, the head of education and information services:
- leads, develops, and assesses the education programs and information services of the Biomedical Libraries, delivering and assessing instruction in both classroom and online environments, providing research and reference services in a variety of formats.
- recruits, supervises, and mentors a diverse and inclusive staff; create opportunities for their growth and professional development.
- partners with faculty, clinicians, researchers, and others to integrate the Biomedical Libraries in the curricula, research programs, and clinical activities of the Dartmouth and DHMC communities.
- contributes to evidence-based assessment efforts informing the evolution of library programs, services, and spaces.
